1997 Jeep Wrangler Review
The 1997 Jeep Wrangler was featured with several upgrades, many of which were quite noteworthy. The 1997 Wrangler was offered in three trims viz Sahara, Sport and SE. There were many changes made to the parts and interiors, though the exterior body remained almost the same (as in case of all Jeep models).
Changes Incorporated in the 1997 Jeep Wrangler
First up, a revises suspension was incorporated into the 97’ Wrangler, accompanied by dual airbags in the safety department. The vehicle was featured with plastic windows and canvas top, and resembled the looks of a convertible’s roof. However, those who did not like the plastic roof had the optional of upgrading to full metal doors and roll-up glass windows.
Exterior Specs
While a number of interior changes were prominent, the wheelbase and overall length of the vehicle remain unaltered. Same was the case with power-trains and transmission. However, antilock brakes were given optionally in the Sahara and Sport trims. The only prominent change made to its body style was the introduction of round headlamps.
Overall, the 1997 Wrangler was an impressive boxy style Jeep production, which delivered decent fuel economy and overall satisfactory performance. It proved to be one of the stepping stones to the popularity of Jeep Wrangler models in the market.
